FEATURES AND BENEFITS
1) Polymer fortified – provides high bond strength and gives excellent adhesion to all types of porous and non-porous tiles and stone, especially suitable for both internal and external adhering of big size tiles, vitreous tiles and natural stones.
2) High bond strength and slump resistance
3) Long repositioning allowing more time to move tiles/natural stone into the correct position.
4) Flexible can absorb expansion due to the temperature differences.
5) Water-resistant is excellent-suitable for swimming pools and other wet locations
6) BS EN 12004 Type C2TE
USES
1) C2TE Super Tile Adhesive can be used on both walls and floors, in interior and exterior applications.
2) C2TE Super Tile Adhesive can be used to fix tiles onto concrete, cement renders/screeds, blockwork, rendered brickwork and particular waterproofing membranes.
3) C2TE Super Tile Adhesive can be used for fixing wall tiles onto flexible building boards such as fibre cement sheet , plasterboard and old tiles.
4) C2TE Super Tile Adhesive is recommended for the thin or thick bed fixing of all types of ceramic, mosaic, vitrified, porcelain, terracotta, slate, quarry, natural stone, granite and marble tiles (especially white marble), with the exception of green marbles.
SURFACE PREPARATION
1) All surfaces must be structurally sound, dry, clean and free from movement, oil, grease, wax, curing compounds and any other loose or contaminating materials.
2) All building boards must be flat and firmly fixed.
3) Painted surfaces must be scabbled/abraded to expose at least 80% of the original substrate.
4) Newly rendered/screeded surfaces must be allowed to cure for at least 24 hours and have a wood float finish.
5) Old rendered/screeded surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned prior to tiling and have a wood float finish.
6) New concrete must be allowed to cure for 1 week and should have a wood float finish.
7) Steel trowel finished concrete must be acid etched or mechanically abraded prior to tiling.
8.) Old concrete surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned prior to tiling.
9) Make sure all release agents are removed from concrete surfaces, especially on tilt-up slabs.
MIXING
1) Add C2TE Super Tile Adhesive to a bucket of clean water mixing constantly with electric mixer until a thick creamy consistency is achieved.
2) The mixing ratio is 25kg of C2TE Super Tile Adhesive to approximately 6~6.25 liters of water.
3) Allow the mixture to stand for 10 minutes, remix, and then use the adhesive.
APPLICATION
1) Spread the adhesive onto the substrate using a 6mm x6mm notched trowel for the installation of wall tiles up to 150mm x 150mm.
2) When laying tiles which are larger than 400mm x400mm in size, GOMIXCOAT recommend the use of a 12mm x 12mm notched trowel as a minimum –back buttering of the tile may also be necessary to ensure greater than 90% coverage is achieved.
3) Can spread up to 1m2 of adhesive at any one time on properly primed surfaces.
4) Press tiles firmly into position before the adhesive skins, ensuring that all the tiles are well bedded and that no voids occur under the tiles.
5) Occasionally, in order to ensure that full coverage is being maintained, a tile should be removed, the adhesive coverage noted and the tile be relaid accordingly.
6) Once the tiles have been laid, they must not be disturbed or trafficked upon for 24 hours at 20℃.
GROUTING
1) Grouting can be carried out 6-8 hours after the completion of the tiling.
2) Use the Gomixcoat grout that best suits the tiling installation. Refer to the Gomixcoat Adhesive and Grout Selection Guide for further information.
3) Allow 24 hours after grouting before putting the area into service.
DOSAGE
The dosage differs according to the actual condition of the project.
About 3~5kg/m2 if the 6 * 6mm scraper is used.
About 5~7kg/m2 if the 10 * 10mm scraper is used.
Less dosages for even surface.
PRECAUTIONS
Allow 24 hours curing time before exposing to traffic.
1) Do not apply C2TE Super Tile Adhesive in temperatures above 40℃ or below 5℃.
2) Do not allow the adhesive to skin prior to laying the tiles. If the adhesive skins, remove and dispose of it, then re-apply fresh adhesive.
3) C2TE Super Tile Adhesive is not suitable for fixing tiles directly onto timber floors.
4) C2TE Super Tile Adhesive is not suitable for the tiling of areas where continual immersion occurs i.e. swimming pools, spas, etc.
5) For other uses or the use of C2TE Super Tile Adhesive over substrates/situations not mentioned in these instructions, contact your our state office
6) Being cement based, C2 Super Tile Adhesive is alkali in nature, which can cause dermatitis. Thus, when using C2TE Super Tile Adhesive it is recommended that applicators wear PVC or similar gloves and safety goggles.
